ABSTRACT

In recent years, the issue of sexual consent has become a topic of public debate in Ireland. News reports of high-profile rape cases and harrowing headlines depicting sexual violence have not abated. This presentation will look at the topic of sexual consent and, with that, sexual violence from an Irish perspective and the sociocultural influence of sexual scripts, rape myths and rape culture.
